David Evertson, DVM

Dr. Evertson received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1994. Dr. Evertson also received a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Wyoming in 1990. Dr. Evertson enjoys large animal practice and particularly has an interest in equine reproduction and dentistry.

Owner/Veterinarian

Dana Petersen, DVM

Dr. Petersen received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1997. She also has a bachelors degree in Animal Science from KSU in 1995. She is originally from Dannebrog, Neb., a small town of 325 people in central Nebraska. Her and her husband, Dr. David Evertson, found and later bought Alpine Animal Hospital just 12 days after her graduating vet school. Dr. Petersen has wanted to be a vet ever since she could remember. Her most vivid memory of that goal was when her fathers' black lab had a lump on his neck that was further diagnosed to be an abscess. Dr. Peterson and Dr. Evertson have three sons: Dawson, Devon, and Dax. They also have a border collie, Rigby. In her free time Dr. Petersen enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, and reading. Her professional interests are small animal soft tissue surgery, puppy training, and rehabilitation/physical therapy.

Carey Beacom, DVM

Dr. Carey Beacom received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Carey grew up in Pine, Colorado and earned her Bachelors degree in Animal Technology from the University of Denver before going to veterinary school. After veterinary school, she completed a one year internship at a busy mixed animal clinic in Montrose, Colorado. Her special interests in practice include herd health, equine medicine and reproduction but she enjoys all the variety that mixed animal practice offers. She also serves in the US Army Reserve as a veterinary corps officer and as a board member for the Albany County Stockgrowers. Dr. Carey enjoys spending free time with her dogs and horses.

Kailey Kaeding

Kailey was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She moved out west to attend the University of Wyoming and graduated with a B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. She has two fur babies at home named Kaiser and Muskie whom she loves to spoil rotten. She is an avid reader in her free time and is always crafting something. She can't wait to meet you and your furry loved ones when you stop in to see us at Alpine!

Lizzy Giese

Lizzy Giese has been a veterinary technician with AAH since December 2008. She has an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Eastern Wyoming College. She grew up in Laramie and between her parents and her sister, they have 9 dogs, 3 cats and 2 fish. Lizzy enjoys sled dog racing, reading, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, hiking, and being with her friends and family.

Yves-Marie Hess

Yvie is originally from Cheyenne, WY and grew up on a small equine breeding operation. Yvie graduated from Eastern Wyoming College in 2021 with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She has worked as a technician for the last several years across southern Wyoming. She has had the pleasure of working with all kinds of creatures from bucking stock to performance horses. Recently, in Spring 2024, she earned her Bachelor's of Animal Science with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Yvie is now in the process of applying to vet school.

Brittany Robinson

Brittany grew up in Colorado and moved to Laramie around 2016 where she joined our team here at Alpine. While she has experience working as a client service representative, she wanted to be more hands-on with the animals. She graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute with her Associate's degree as a Veterinary Technician, and has since worked in emergency clinics, shelters, mixed animal practices, and wildlife practices. In her free time Brittany enjoys being in the mountains, hiking, and fishing. She has many creatures to look after while at home, including her son Deven, daughter Zoey, twin girls Roxie and Charlie, llamas, ducks, chickens, dogs, and abundance of barn cats. She is excited to get to work with your furry friends!

Breanna Van Dyke

Originally from Colorado, Breanna comes to us most recently from Helena, Montana where she received a BA in Anthrozoology from Carroll College in 2018 before pursing her AAS in Veterinary Technology from San Juan College in 2021. Breanna is a certified veterinary technician, passing the VTNE in April 2022. She has been in the veterinary field since 2017 where she worked as a technician at a small animal hospital in Montana. She has an interest in internal medicine, ophthalmology, and wound care. Breanna's love for animals started at a young age when she helped her grandpa pull a calf at 4 years old. She grew up around cats, dogs, horses, and cows. She currently has 2 cats, Maeve and Ethel, with her husband James. Outside of working with animals, Breanna enjoys attending University of Wyoming football and basketball games, Irish dancing, and spending time with friends and family.

Sara Boryla

Sara was born and raised in southern Indiana, she moved to Wyoming in 2007 to pursue a degree in Equine Business Management, then eventually moved to Oklahoma where she achieved her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Murray State College. She moved back up to Wyoming in 2014 and hasn't looked back since. Sara currently lives up by Vedauwoo with her husband, their cat Loki, their Corgi Sadie, their Sarplaniac Chloe, and a variety of horses, chickens, and goats.
