This breed is a heavy draft horse that is recognizable through its size. The average stance of a Clydesdale is between 17 and 18 hands. They also have silky feathers surrounding the hooves. These horses were bred and used for heavy haulage in both agriculture and mine settings. Today, you will most often see these horses pulling carriages or large loads in a team.
